PàiPear is Gaelic for “paper,” and you’re very welcome to call us simply Paper.
My great-gran on my dad’s side spoke Gaelic as her first language – and I can safely say I didn’t understand a word of her thick accent when I was wee!
I don’t speak the language myself, but by naming my brand after the simple concept of its creation – and including the flower of Scotland – I give a humble nod to my Scottish and Irish heritage.
A wee bit of history: Gaelic culture and language have survived centuries of suppression. Even today, Scottish and Irish folk are often told to “speak properly” or “stop using slang.”
It feels only right – and true to my rebellious roots – to sprinkle a personal Scottish flair into my craft wherever I can!

Meet Nicole – Our Wax-Sealing Whizz
Nicole is our expert wax-sealer, specialising in plastic-free wax – tricky stuff, but she makes it look effortless!
She’s currently working behind the scenes to take our wax-sealing services beyond the basics, so keep your eyes peeled for what’s next.
By day, Nicole works as a call handler for NHS24, supporting the service since 2019. Off-duty, she loves cars (don't get her started on Lando Morris), fitness and healthy living, bouncing up as many Munros as she can with her husband, and just being an all-out wee Queen.
Nicole is also a Post Malone superfan and a self-proclaimed ‘Xbox Princess’ – she can hold her own in-game, but for gods sake just don’t ask her to set it up!

Meet Keri – Our Resident Artist
Keri is our talented artist at PaiPear! She has a knack for turning your ideas – and even your mad ramblings – into a customised piece of art you can use across your stationery.
After helping couples create their dream stationery, Keri returns to her role as a call handler at NHS24. Before that, she spent time volunteering in the animal care sector.
Outside of work, Keri loves spending time with her family, hiking, getting outdoors with friends, and of course, her dog. She has a passion for dog training, and her rescue pup Bear is certainly the lucky beneficiary!

Here at PàiPear, we’re passionate about two things:
Did you know wood is rarer than diamonds?
It literally rains diamonds on Neptune and Uranus – but wood hasn’t been found anywhere else in the known universe!
In a world moving ever more online, we know it’s a privilege and a wee luxury to bring art to life through wedding stationery.
We partner with Ecologi to plant trees and give back to Mother Nature. The earth provides the beautiful resources that let us create keepsakes for you, so we care about conserving and replenishing them.
Anyone can help – extraordinary impact comes from ordinary folk banding together to show they care!
We’ve also secured UK suppliers who share our values, so everything is in hand, ethical, and environmentally thoughtful.
We’re always looking for ways to streamline our lives – everything is moving online, even the menu at your local restaurant is now a QR code! But that’s all the more reason to slow down and savour the special moments that bring us face-to-face with our loved ones.
Written invitations used to be a luxury only the rich and noble could afford. Even if you weren’t lucky enough to be educated to reading level, social events were so important that town-criers would read official invitations aloud.
Now, online images, templates, and AI art are everywhere, making it hard enough to keep up, never mind stand out. Ironically, as our old ways of sending letters and writing notes by hand fade, paper invitations have become a wee luxury that packs a real punch!
Sure, you could send a digital invitation for free, or grab a free template online… but that risks leaving behind older friends and relatives, and anyone who doesn’t find technology easy to access. Not to mention the hidden admin – juggling RSVPs, last-minute changes, and different apps for different folk depending on how you contact them.
Receiving a text, email, or Facebook event can feel impersonal and fail to stir the excitement your special day deserves. A free (slightly wonky) Canva template doesn’t exactly scream personality or express what makes your day uniquely yours.
We deserve keepsakes – printed photos, concert tickets, and beautiful invitations for life’s unforgettable moments (and not with the FreePrints logo on the back!).
We also know the impact our purchases have on people and the planet. Very low-cost stationery from overseas retailers can come with hidden environmental costs – excess packaging, non-recyclable materials, long-distance shipping – and a high risk of exploitative labour, including unsafe or forced conditions.
For a more selfish angle, remember the last time you tried to fix a simple problem with a foreign call centre… now imagine that via email, with a 14-working-day reply time, using Google Translate, and your beautiful wedding stationery on the line!
By choosing PaiPear, you’re supporting a small UK business that values fairness, sustainability, and ethical production. Every order is printed with care, on responsibly sourced materials where possible, and delivered with minimal waste.
You’re not just buying stationery – you’re helping to foster a more ethical, eco-conscious wedding industry and supporting the local economy.
PaiPear aims to be an eco, ethical, and affordable alternative for customers who care.
From your first invite to your final thank you, PaiPear is here to bring your dream stationery to life – print perfection without breaking your budget, and with just a wee bit of Scottish charm! 🍀
